I hadn't had chance to find out the background to this story till I just read it. I thought they were 'accidental' octuplets, not that it was 8 embryos which were inplanted and all happened to survive. if the part about the sperm donor is true, I think that's pretty mean.
It sounds like the woman needs some psychiatric help rather than IVF!
this may be a non-starter as a thread,because of the way i feel.. if you are still a believer in jesus,you may have joined another religion or group,i do not feel inclined so to do,i feel that all organized religion has error in it,and is made by men for men.
also as i am trying to "fade" there are dangers,if i was seen attending.. however,i do feel the need for spiritual association,and especially i feel the desire to share in the lords supper and drink the wine and eat the bread.. any ideas on how to do that without going to a church etc ?.

How would you feel about going to a Salvation Army service? They aren't like regular churches but they do celebrate the Lord's Supper occasionally. They don't force any doctrines on you (you don't have to become a fully uniformed member if you don't want to!) - and you'd also get the opportunity to do some real christian service in the community if you like

I've just made it home from work. Buses are only running on the major roads, but the major roads are now getting a layer of snow.

I was just thinking about this again. I was still in the RC church back when the Lefebvre thing happened - but I never heard anything about it at the time. It seems they kept it quiet among the R&F!!

ok where do i start.
last year my mother-in-law (still a witness) fell ill, she seemed at least in begining kind of ok during the day but at night would go nuts, always needing something.
my wife is the main person looking after her, i help when i can but my early rising means if i don't get enough of sleep i might as well stay at home or someone can get killed (i work at subway control centre).
It's said by some scientists that during sleep, your brain processes all the 'stuff' that it doesn't get chance to during the waking hours (hence dreaming). Your wife has an awful lot happening because of her mum's condition and she probably isn't getting enough sleep to process it all - I just wonder whether those periods in the day where she goes into her own world might be her brain trying to play catch-up (micro-sleep?). Her state doesn't sound too great - maybe not over the edge yet but getting close, I hope you can all get the help you need soon.

Just to clear a couple of points for you Sparkplug. The "Holy See" isn't the Pope alone, it's the general rule making organisation - a bit like the Governing Body!
And Williamson wasn't excommunicated for holocaust denial. It was because he was part of a breakaway group of ultra-traditionalist priests led by Archbishop Lefebvre (?sp). This is the group that the RC church were trying to make peace with by reinstating the excommunicated Bishops. That Williamson is accused of holocaust denial is a 'side issue' (a very big one!).
I'm not too sure whether it was a good idea to reinstate him. It would probably have been sufficient for the Pope to reinstate the others for now.
On a side note, i'm taking this oportunity to remember the forgotten/ignored 5 million non-Jews who also lost their lives.
